### What does "agent-ready" mean?

It means AI systems can find, read, and act on your site: answer engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity can understand and cite your content, and AI agents can discover your tools and APIs through open standards like llms.txt, schema.org, and MCP.

### What is AEO, and how is it different from SEO?

AEO is answer-engine optimisation: being visible and citable inside AI answers rather than ranked in a list of blue links. SEO gets you into search results; AEO gets you into the answer an AI gives directly. They overlap, but AEO leans on structured data, clear question-and-answer content, and machine-readable pages.

### Do I need to pass every check to show up in AI answers?

No. The answer-engine (AEO) checks matter most for being found and cited today. The agent-protocol checks (MCP, WebMCP, agent skills) are the frontier: useful if you want AI agents to use your site, less urgent if you only care about visibility right now.

### What do the fix prompts actually do?

Each failing check comes with a self-contained instruction written for a coding agent. Paste it into Claude Code, Cursor, or Windsurf and the agent implements the change in your codebase. "Copy all" hands over every prompt in one go, including the optional ones that do not affect your score, and tags each as required, improve, or optional so the agent knows what is mandatory.

### What if my site sits behind bot protection?

If your CDN or firewall (Cloudflare, Imperva, DataDome and similar) challenges our scanner, we say so instead of showing a score: grading a "verify you are human" page would describe the wall, not your site. That usually does NOT mean AI cannot see you. Verified AI crawlers like GPTBot, ClaudeBot, and PerplexityBot typically pass CDN allowlists; it is unverified scanners like ours that get challenged. The blocked report includes a copyable prompt that walks whoever manages your CDN through adding a temporary exception for our scanner so you can get a real score.

### Do you store my site or my data?

The scan reads only public pages and well-known files, the same things any browser or crawler sees, and it keeps no copy of your content beyond a short cache (about 12 hours). Each scan does create a shareable report at a public URL (agentifymysite.com/your-domain) with the score and the public signals it checked, so anyone with that link can view it.
